Augmented Reality on iPhone
A new App called Nearest Tube, uses an iPhone's compass, video camera and GPS to locate the nearest tube stations. The main difference that sets this App apart is how it delivers this information. Augmented Reality.
As you tilt and twist the iPhone you see an overlay of info over the video screen. As you turn, the screen rotates round to reveal the nearest stations in the direction you're facing. When you tap a station on screen, it opens up Google Maps with a planned route from your current position to your selected station.
When you point your iPhone to the floor the display shows arrows to the nearest tube stations.
